ASI will develop a universal mechanism for technology companies to enter new markets

The mechanism for providing small innovative companies with access to new markets will be developed jointly with technology project leaders, large companies and state monopolies as part of the new 100 Technology Leaders initiative. Artem Avetisyan, Director of the New Business Directorate of the Agency for Strategic Initiatives (ASI), spoke about this at a meeting of the ASI Supervisory Board, which was held on January 15 under the chairmanship of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

“We have a lot of young scientists, innovative companies, Russian developments, but only a small percentage of these developments take root in the Russian market. Entrepreneurs are faced with difficulties in promoting their innovative solutions to large companies. Therefore, we decided to select 100 technology projects to start with, and use their example to work out a universal mechanism that will provide small innovative companies with access to new markets”, said Artyom Avetisyan.

As an example, he cited two projects that are seeking to ensure import substitution and conquer new markets.

The development of Altai scientists - fuel additive "Greenbooster" (company "InOIL"), which, when added to gasoline, diesel fuel, fuel oil reduces its consumption by 20%, and harmful emissions into the atmosphere - up to 40%. These fuel additives produced in Russia are used in Congo, Ireland, Georgia, Monaco, but in Russia they are used only at a few Altai enterprises.

The second project, SuperOx from Moscow, is a unique industrial electrical equipment (superconductors) that prevents power surges. The device can stop a short circuit in a fraction of a second and eliminate an accident in case of abnormal situations, such as lightning strikes, cable damage, breakdown of high-voltage insulation.

“We have helped companies with certification for the coal industry, they are working on supplies to Rosseti and SUEK.” Moscow is interested. A substation in Mnevniki with this equipment will be launched this quarter. It will provide super-reliable power supply in the north-west of the capital for 500 (five hundred) thousand people”, explained Artyom Avetisyan.

According to him, about 70% of all calls that have been received in the last year by ASI are initiated by representatives of the technology business who are interested in promoting their innovative developments in large companies.

“We want to systematize the problems that leaders of technological projects face in promoting their product, and to understand what needs to be done to solve them”, said the director of the “New Business” direction of ASI.
