Novgorod region stated its readiness to launch the projects developed at the ASI's Competition of digital solutions

The representatives of the relevant regional agencies had shown their keenness to implement the solutions developed at the competition of digital solutions of the Agency for Strategic Initiatives (ASI) in the territory of the Novgorod Region, as Evgenia Serebryakova, Deputy Vice Rector for Science and Innovations of the Yaroslav-the-Wise Novgorod State University, stated on the results of the data hackathon held on June 20 in Veliky Novgorod.

Data hackathon teams worked on the following tasks from the regions: Primorsky Krai – quality analysis for public services provided electronically and in the networks of Multifunctional Centers, Astrakhan Region – survey and monitoring of agricultural fields using unmanned aircrafts and computer vision systems, Republic of Tatarstan – prediction of the need for kindergarten construction, Chelyabinsk Region – construction of an efficient marketing and product strategy of tourist attraction to Southern Urals resorts based on digital footprint analysis, Sakha Republic (Yakutia) – reach of healthcare for residents of remote areas and road accident victims.

"The topics selected for the hackathon are relevant both for the Novgorod Region and other regions. The teams chose tasks, inter alia, from the consumer perspective. We believe that several solutions merit a more serious elaboration, and we are interested in the implementation of these solutions in the territory of the Novgorod Region," Evgenia Serebryakova commented the hackathon results.

The region already has an active tool for the support of similar initiatives – Piloting Factory for the projects of the National Technology Initiative (NTI). The mechanism for the implementation of the Piloting Factory is based on the launch of digital economy projects and NTI technologies. The Factory products are solutions, technologies, innovations, companies, and entrepreneurs successfully rolled-out in the territory of the Novgorod Region and ready to be replicated in Russia and abroad.

"Projects using big data processing and analytics to efficiently manage the regions and address the problems of the population's quality of life are now particularly in demand. We will work with the teams and provide them with advice of specialists from the relevant ministries. We are also ready to pilot interesting solutions from other regions," Evgenia Serebryakova added.

The ASI's Center of Digital Development organized a number of data hackathons in regional Boiling Points: Tomsk, Kazan, Lipetsk, Novosibirsk. Next data hackathons will take place in Yekaterinburg (June 25–26), Chelyabinsk (June 27–28), Yakutia (July 2–3), Ulyanovsk (July 6–7), Grozny (July 25–26).
