Powerful Ideas for the New Times Forum received over 19,000 applications from all over Russia

The application deadline for the Strong Ideas for the New Time Forum organized by the Agency for Strategic Initiatives (ASI) and the Roscongress Foundation is over. In total, the crowd funding platform at ideas.roscongress.org received more than 19,500 proposals from all regions of Russia, with Moscow, Samara, Nizhny Novgorod, Rostov, Moscow, Leningrad, Saratov, Orenburg, Tomsk and Lipetsk being the most active regions.
“The Forum’s core value is the opportunity to find people who are ready to develop the country with us. 87,000 people from all over Russia proposed more than 19,000 projects aimed at creating technological sovereignty, training personnel in demand, improving the quality of life, and driving regional growth. At the moment, the main task is to help implement the most promising projects, to provide them with the necessary support and remove all barriers together with partners,” said Maxim Oreshkin, OC Chairman and Adviser to the President of Russia.
The projects were accepted in seven categories, such as HR, technology, social sphere, environment, regional development, and entrepreneurship, and there is also an Open Conversation (other proposals for the national development which do not fit into the specified topics).
“The social sphere has become one of the most popular categories in terms of the number of proposed ideas. This track received almost 6,000 applications. They include initiatives related to seamless benefits, allocation of quotas for free treatment, better quality of healthcare in villages, and high-tech solutions, including rehabilitation of patients. The second most popular track was Regional Development. The projects are related to development of domestic tourism, transport infrastructure and support of NPOs. The collection of new ideas on the eve of the Forum has once again proved that people are eager to change their lives around themselves, offer ideas and take responsibility for their implementation,” Svetlana Chupsheva, ASI Director General and Deputy OC Chairman, said. Now a large expert community will have to evaluate and select top 1,000 ideas. This work has already started. There are parallel regional sessions for the participants to present their proposals and build partnerships to further translate them into real life.
By mid-June, working groups of the Expert Council of ASI headed by VEB.RF Chairman Igor Shuvalov will select top 200 ideas; some of them would be discussed at St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF). After that, the Chairman and the Bureau of the Expert Council of ASI will choose top 100 best projects to finalize them together with the Russian Government.
The face-to-face two-day Powerful Ideas for the New Times Forum will be the final point to take place in July 2022. It is planned to present 100 best initiatives and projects there, and demonstrate 10 of them to the country’s leadership at the plenary session.
The first Powerful Ideas for the New Times Forum of ASI and Roscongress Foundation was held in November 2020. The experts selected 1,000 projects for further development out of 15,000 proposals submitted via the Forum’s crowd platform. 828 were marked by regions, 592 successfully completed the Forum’s acceleration program, 100 idea leaders were invited to participate in the SPIEF and WEF, more than 80 ideas served as the basis of ASI’s new strategy.
