Tatarstan, Chuvashia, and Moscow at the Head of the Regional Investment Attractiveness Rating
The results of the National Regional Investment Climate Ranking were presented on June 2 at Saint Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF 2017).
As in the previous year, the leader of the rating was the Republic of Tatarstan. Top 5 also included the Chuvash Republic, Moscow, and Tula and Kaluga Regions.
The best dynamics in the top-20 by the integral indicator was shown by Voronezh, Ivanovo, Leningrad, Kostroma, and Moscow Regions.
“51 regions improved their integral ratings. The average rating index grew by 5.3 points,” said the General Director of the Agency for Strategic Initiatives Svetlana Chupsheva.

Before that Svetlana Chupsheva pointed out that the representatives of business highly evaluated support measures and the level of access of small and medium-sized businesses (SMB) to the procurement processes of state companies all over the country.
“All indicators of SMB support improved materially, by times,” said the head of ASI.
REFERENCE
National Regional Investment Climate Ranking is created by the Agency for Strategic Initiatives along with major business unions and assesses the efficiency of work of regional authorities in the sphere of forming beneficial business environment. In 2017 it will cover all regions for the first time and will provide for the analysis of the investment climate in dynamics (in 2016 the research took place in all constituent entities of the Russian Federation, but Nenets and Chukotka Autonomous Areas, the Republic of Crimea, and Sevastopol were evaluated outside the rating).
